Is the iPhone 4S Worth the Purchase?

I was listening in on the “Let’s Talk ” event today. Most people had high expectations, and many felt the event let them down. I’m really on the fence about that. Let me explain…

I bought the uncool 3GS. And I loved it.

I have a rule: The first generation isn’t always the best. I’ve seen this happen with the fruit company. My opinion is, when you’re an innovator (which they are) you have to work out the kinks. I’d rather be on the second wave, watching the first with interest. Oh, I wanted that last generation phone, but I didn’t get it. Maybe that makes me a slow adopter, or maybe it just makes me cautious. I love technology, but that doesn’t mean I am waiting in line in the rain. I’m ok with that.

Will I buy the new iPhone 4S? Siri makes it tempting.

I dunno yet. It’s got to sink in a bit still. If I do, the deciding factor for me will be “Siri”. I have this awesome app (as it is now) and I am loving what they are doing with the integration into the iPhone. (I wrote about Siri a while back.) Let me repeat: I LOVE Siri. Is that enough to buy a new phone? It just might be… when the feature is actually released. That won’t be until next year sometime… in the spring-ish.

Is the iPhone 4S worth it to you? Will you be getting it?

Here’s my notes and a news roundup if you’d like more info:

So, now that you have the new iPhone 4S, what do you think? I’m debating getting an iPhone or staying with Android when I’m eligible for an upgrade in February 2012. The couple people I’ve talked to about Siri is that it’s cool in theory but doesn’t work as well as depicted in the commercials.

My big fear is that Apple doesn’t allow for expandability. I run a lot of apps on my droid and have the expanded memory card so I’m able to off load most of them to the memory card. Even still, I’m constantly running low on space on my Droid. I’ve learned to clean some things up, but it’s a pain and it slows my phone down tremendously. Without any expanded space on the iPhone I’m fearful I’ll have it filled up in no time with no where to go.

I’d love to hear your updated thoughts now that you’ve had your phone a while.

    THANKS!
